“Maker” is a term given to to people who create or make. “It has the potential of giving anyone the tools they need to become makers and move them from passive users to active creators.” explains Zach Kaplan, of Inventables - a maker company. There are many connections between maker and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.) The MAISD with the support of the REMC Association and teacher input, created a lending library of resources teachers can check out to explore “making” with their students.
